Olympic skeet

I took up Olympic skeet, the Olympic shotgun discipline, in 2011, and have represented England six times in international competition.

The most memorable of those was in 2013. Six weeks after major surgery for oesophageal cancer, the England selectors called to ask if I was available for the Olympic Skeet Home International in Scotland. I had shot the qualifying competitions before my operation and had forgotten to withdraw. With my surgeon's blessing, eleven weeks after the operation I shot for England, in the same team as my son.
